Cornelis Elmes, MD
Hospitalist, Orthopedics, Trauma, Pelvic Surgery, Foot & Ankle SurgeryThere are several physicians in my family, but the one I admired most was my uncle, who was an orthopedic surgeon. I’ve always been drawn to mechanics and building things, so orthopedic surgery came naturally to me.
My first love is trauma surgery and I have worked in both Level I and Level II trauma centers. I also have a special interest in foot and ankle surgery and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of sacroiliac (SI) joint pain.
I choose to practice medicine in Solano County because I like the proximity to the water, ski resorts, and biking around the wine country. I believe in leading a healthy, balanced lifestyle and I encourage my patients to do the same. I advise my patients to stay active and participate in cardio as well as balance, flexibility and strength training activities. All these forms of exercise are important to maintain a healthy mind and body. Cardio training is important to keep your heart and vascular system strong. Weight training and balance activities are critical to maintain healthy strong bones and muscles.
I also love to travel and my goal is to visit all of the continents. So far I’ve been to Asia, Europe and the Caribbean.

While we strive to keep this list up to date, it's always a good idea to check with your health plan to determine the specific details of your coverage, and to contact the provider's office to verify acceptance of your particular plan.
