I became a doctor because I like helping people. I grew up playing sports and when I was younger and had to see doctors for various fractures or sports injuries. The doctors I met as a young athlete inspired me to start thinking about a career in medicine.
As the Director of the Orthopedic Trauma Program at NorthBay Medical Center, I see patients of all ages, suffering from a variety of issues, such as broken wrists or gun shot wounds.
What I like about orthopedic surgery is that I can fix a patient's problem and get them on the road to recovery. When I see a patient with severe pain from a serious injury or condition - I can help heal them -and then, they can return to their normal activities in just a few months. That brings me the most satisfaction.
My special interest is sports medicine, and I have extensive experience with skiing and snowboarding injuries. For 10 years, I was the physician at Snowbird/Alta Ski Resort in Utah. I offer shoulder and knee evaluations for sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery and ligament reconstruction.
I've played sports my whole life and I love skiing. I'm also fluent in Spanish. Yo habló español también.

Below is a list of plans accepted by all NorthBay Health providers unless designated as an independent community doctor.
While we strive to keep this list up to date, it's always a good idea to check with your health plan to determine the specific details of your coverage, and to contact the provider's office to verify acceptance of your particular plan.
